Calgary Wranglers vs. Bakersfield Condors (AHL hockey, Flames vs. Oilers farm teams)

The American Hockey League is the level just below the NHL, where NHL clubs develop prospects. The Calgary Wranglers are the Flames' top affiliate and share the Saddledome with them, and the visiting Bakersfield Condors are the Edmonton Oilers' affiliate from California, which gives these games a built-in Alberta rivalry. The teams meet twice this weekend, Friday night and a Sunday afternoon rematch. Calgary opened the season with a home sweep of the Abbotsford Canucks, as rookie Axel Hurtig scored twice, including his first pro goal, and Kirill Zarubin won his first AHL start in net with 31 saves. The club has branded 2026-27 the Dome Farewell Season, its last in the building before the move to Scotia Place.
