The Colossal Carve 2026 (Live giant-pumpkin carving)
The Colossal Carve is the Calgary Farmers' Market's live giant-pumpkin event, back after a 2025 edition. Two competition-sized giants grown by Johnson Fresh Farms in Taber have been on display since September 25, one at each market. Yann Blanchard, who won the market's Cold Cut ice-carving championship, switches from ice to pumpkin and carves them in front of shoppers. Drop a Great Gourd Guess ballot at Guest Services with your weight guess for a shot at a Thanksgiving market basket. Kids get the Golden Gourd Hunt for prizes and a complimentary decorating station, with live music around them.
