A Concrete Jungle Book (StoryBook Theatre family musical)

StoryBook Theatre has made family theatre in Calgary since 1977, and A Concrete Jungle Book is its own creation, written by Calgary writer Joe Slabe and first developed as The Urban Jungle Book in 2017. The show carries the spirit of Kipling's story into an urban world of rules, hierarchies and survival instincts, where a young protagonist looks for identity, belonging and family. Expect a driving modern score and a big ensemble, over two hours with intermission. StoryBook's ages 10+ guidance means the themes suit that age, not that younger kids are barred.
