Steve Hackman's Beethoven X Beyoncé (Symphony meets pop concert)

Steve Hackman is an American conductor and composer whose SYMPHONYFUSE concerts stitch a classical masterwork to one pop artist's songbook as a single continuous piece. Beethoven X Beyoncé premiered in 2024 and sets Beyoncé's catalogue against Beethoven's Seventh Symphony. Vocalists Brayla, Malia Civetz and Brooke Simpson sing songs including Crazy in Love, Single Ladies, Halo and Texas Hold 'Em, with Jalyn Spencer on bass and Brenton TaRon Lockett on drums sitting inside the orchestra. Hackman has taken his fusion programs to orchestras including Philadelphia, San Francisco and the Boston Pops. The Calgary Phil plays it once.
