Pavlo In Concert (Mediterranean guitar)

Pavlo Simtikidis grew up in Toronto with Greek immigrant parents and coined the label Mediterranean music after record executives called his early sound too ethnic. Think melodic nylon-string guitar in the new-flamenco family, close to the acoustic side of the Gipsy Kings, played with a full band. He has two gold albums, two Juno nominations and four PBS concert specials, and plays roughly 150 shows a year. Fans watch for two habits: the Day Tripper riff that got him started at age ten, which he plays almost every night, and the guitar he gives away at every concert.
