Calgary Wranglers vs. Abbotsford Canucks (Pro hockey, Flames farm team)
The American Hockey League is the pro level directly below the NHL, and the Wranglers exist to develop Calgary's prospects. Dustin Wolf, Matt Coronato and Martin Pospisil all wore a Wranglers sweater before landing full-time Flames jobs. Friday is the first of 72 regular-season games and the first of two straight home dates against the Abbotsford Canucks, Vancouver's farm team, with the rematch Saturday at 5 PM. The club is billing 2026-27 as its final season at the Saddledome before the Scotia Place arena district opens, so the farewell season starts here.
