Teddy Bear Clinic (Stuffed-toy check-ups at the zoo)

A teddy bear clinic uses pretend play to make doctor visits less scary. At the Calgary Zoo, the real Animal Care, Health and Welfare team runs it on the Asia Lawn. Each toy goes through intake and triage, gets a health check, visits a stitching station if it needs repairs and leaves with a custom prescription, and an animal ambulance may be on site. The $5 donation per toy supports the zoo's wildlife conservation work. Members have their own session from 9 to 11 AM, and the zoo suggests giving the toy a bath at home first.
