NMC Presents: Under the Harvest Moon (Mid-Autumn Festival concert)

The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the biggest holidays in Chinese culture, when families gather under the harvest full moon and share mooncakes, and in 2026 it falls on Friday. The National Music Centre and the Alberta Chinese Artists Association mark the night with a single concert in Studio Bell's 264-seat Performance Hall, where the audience sits steps from the stage. The GCB Band blends Eastern melodies with rock, pop and cinematic arrangements. Rainbow Chinese Assembly plays silk-and-bamboo music, a traditional ensemble style built on strings and bamboo flutes. Guest vocalist Mimi Bao sings well-loved Mandarin classics and newer favourites.
