Korean Culture & Arts Festival (Free drumming, dance and food open house)
Watch and then try Korean drum rhythms
The Calgary Korean Women's Association, a Korean-Canadian community non-profit, runs this free festival through its Korean Art Club as part of Alberta Culture Days, the province's month-long September celebration of arts and heritage. Saturday from 3 to 6 PM is for traditional Korean drumming and dance, with live demonstrations and hands-on workshops so visitors can join in rather than only watch. Sunday from 4 to 6 PM is about Korean food traditions, with demonstrations of how dishes are made and a look at the ingredients. Entry is free at the door, and the centre is a small unit, so space is limited.
