Calgary Farmers' Market South is a permanent indoor market in southeast Calgary where more than 140 local vendors sell produce, meat and seafood, baked goods and food-hall dishes, with about 80% of products grown, baked or made in Alberta. September is peak harvest, and the market's in-season list includes corn, beans, squash, plums, peppers, garlic and cucumbers, along with Beck Farms carrots at Innisfail Growers. Thanksgiving turkey pre-orders are open now, including free-range birds from Market Seafoods and fully smoked turkeys from Big T's BBQ. Weekend mornings before 11 AM are usually quieter, and parking is free.
