Alcove Fest (Free outdoor arts festival)

Alcove Centre for the Arts is a Calgary charity that runs free and low-cost creative spaces, including a downtown art room with free supplies and instruments. Alcove Fest is its first outdoor festival, staged with neighbouring BLOX Arts Centre in the parking lot between their Beltline buildings. Local DJs start the afternoon and live acts follow, and a public dance session with It's a Feeling invites anyone to join rather than watch. Como se Dice leads a pop-up graffiti wall that visitors can paint, and there are local vendors, food trucks and lawn games. It is free and all ages, and pets are welcome. BLOX has a ramp and accessible washrooms.
