This is the weekend where the city starts acting like summer is official. Night markets are back on 17th and in Inglewood, Ube Fest brings a first-of-its-kind food celebration downtown, and Spruce Meadows has enough music and show jumping to make the south end feel like its own festival circuit.
This week: Filipino desserts in the Fire Hall courtyard, free music-making at Studio Bell, market wandering after dark, zoo breakfast before the crowds, and a Sunday alley party with bike repairs if you want the weekend to feel useful too.
Also new on the site this week: after reader feedback, we added a Plan by Mood section so you can browse festivals, night markets, date nights, kid-friendly ideas, food, or free plans before getting into the full day-by-day list.
Let's get to it.
